Federal and State incentives that can help your business

Small business owners are up against a great deal of stress in today's world. While legislation might be passed this year to help small businesses, the fact remains that most of them are on their own. The amount of competition in the marketplace is higher now than it has been in a long time. Sometimes coming up with the funds to keep a business on the right track can be easier said than done, which is why it's important to take into consideration all the different federal and state incentives that might be able to help you do so. It may seem like grabbing at straws, but it's actually far more manageable than you think.

The more time and effort you put into learning about how incentives can help your business, the further you're likely to progress. Here are a few things that are worth taking into consideration, all of which can help to push your business in a forward direction.

Tax Credits

According to ADP, "There are 3,000 Federal and State incentives available, but 50% go unclaimed." Many businesses overlook important credits that can help to save money and move in a forward direction. One of the major reasons these credits sometimes get overlooked is because they can be difficult to find.

It's usually best to work with a professional company or individual that is well-aware of all the different credits available out there, as doing so will ensure you're not missing anything. After all, taxes are confusing enough. The ADP tax credits module gives a pretty good explanation of how to increase your eligibility, as well as how you can capitalize on government based incentives.

Grants.gov
