How would you change's Sony's NEX-5R?

Most camera geeks agree that Sony needed to make up for the NEX-F3, and that it did so with style by producing the NEX-5R. When we placed this in the hands of our in-house camera guru, he was "thrilled." In fact, he described it as one of the best compact ILCs of 2012-2013, and that people should keep it in their mind the next time it came time to buy a camera. The question that needs to be asked, however, is did our man Honig get it right? Never Future is a Windows Phone-exclusive game about battling mutant trash monsters

Sneaky Box's Never Future is a Windows Phone-exclusive game that won plenty of awards back in 2012 when it was a baby startup - World Wide Finalist at Microsoft Imagine Cup, Winner of Nokia and Microsoft's AppCampus, and Winner of Startup Weekend Lithuania. Available now for $1.99, the game is a top-down shooter set in a post-apocalyptic future where all the pollution that humanity spread on Earth mutated into horrible (and smelly) junk monsters. Yes, junk monsters, and we're not talking about relatives of Oscar from Sesame Street, but for trashy fiends that you should only approach with a loaded flamethrower. A broom and spade won't cut it against trash that has teeth and tentacles.

You'll play as an archaeologist that got transported into the bleak future by a mysterious artifact. To survive and get through the game's 50-plus levels, you will have to scavenge and recycle trash, which can be turned to different weapons, armor, and special abilities. This is dumpster diving on a whole new level.

Xperia Z Ultra, Z1, and Z1 Compact owners get KitKat updates

Sony announced that Android 4.4 KitKatupdates are out for its Xperia Z Ultra, Z1, and Z1 Compactsmartphones. Also, KitKat will grace owners of the Xperia Z, ZL,Tablet Z, and ZR in mid-May, while those owning the older Xperia T2Ultra, E1, and M2 are promised chocolatey goodness as well.

The current Android 4.4 updates offer aserving of KitKat's performance and UI tweaks along with Sony's ownworks on the platform. For example, the Status Bar and Quick Settingsmenus have been reworked to become clearer and more intuitive. Also,the new launch animation and live wallpaper have been borrowed fromthe Sony PlayStation 4 and will up the game for the home andlock-screens. 

Furthermore, Sony's native Android apps, such asMessaging, MyXperia, Smart Connect, Small apps, TrackID, TrackID TV,Sony Select, Smart Social Camera have received updates as well, whilethe Media apps (Walkman, Album, and Movies) are now integrated withSony Entertainment Network and PlayMemories. The update should bringa better UI and faster download speeds.

Finally, Sony's Xperia Themes withdownloadable UI packs from Sony Select will let you customize up to280 items from the Xperia Android interface in a variety of styles.

Tablets with the best battery life

We have a new kid on the battery endurance block, and it is Samsung's Galaxy NotePRO tablet. The huge 12.2" slate has an equally impressive 9500 mAh battery, that kept it ticking for nearly nine hours on our demanding battery test. That's more than any other phone or tablet we've tested so far, so we thought we'd share the festivities.
Android tablets are generally expected to last between 8-10 hours of watching HD video on a charge, at medium brightness. Apple's iPads manage to clock 10-12 hours in the same scenario. Until recently, Windows-based tablets were lagging far behind in battery endurance, but with the advent of Intel's new Atom, and mobile Haswell architectures, they managed to almost close in on Android slates.
The NotePRO, however, is in a league of its own, when it comes to battery endurance, and if you want to know the next few tablets in the battery champs category, check out the slideshow below. There are a few new tablets yet to be tested, so these results might be rearranged pretty soon, too.
